       Part-Time Library Circulation Clerk

Hours: 10 hours bi-weekly with a combination of days, evenings and weekends as needed
Job Description: 
The Blind River Public Library is currently looking for a part-time Circulation Clerk. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the head librarian/CEO and with a dedicated staff, to assist customers of all ages and abilities with their educational, recreational, and business information needs. Assistance with device/computer technology is very common. 

Description and Duties:
As the Circulation Clerk, you will be responsible for various tasks including:
-Creating a welcoming, creative, and imaginative library space for the public 
-Checking-in / Checking-out books
-Creating reservations for books and other library resources 
-Creating various media including posters, pamphlets and updating website
-help to organize programs
-Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
-Recent (within the last 6 months) Police Record Check (if hired)
-Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
-Fluent in English, both written and verbal
-Filing skills
-Customer service and people skills, communicating well with the public and team members
-Computer skills including keyboarding, e-mail, and general library software use
-Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, and Excel
-Moderate lifting, standing, carrying, reaching, bending, and navigation of stairs is necessary
-Bilingualism, both written and verbal is considered an asset
-Library knowledge is considered an asset

The Blind River Public Library is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented student to assist with daily operations. This is a great opportunity for students interested in gaining valuable work experience in a public library setting.
Position: Summer Student Library Page (June 22 – August 29, 2026)
Location: Blind River Public Library
Hours: 20-24 hours weekly, including evenings, weekends, for approximately 10 weeks
Wage: minimum wage
Responsibilities:
•	Shelve and organize books and materials accurately
•	Maintain orderly shelves by shelf-reading and straightening materials
•	Process new items to get shelf ready
•	Assist library staff with programming 
•	Assist patrons when needed
Requirements:
•	Currently enrolled as a student and at least 14 years old
•	Ability to alphabetize (fiction) and sort using the Dewey Decimal System (non-fiction)
•	Attention to detail and organizational skills
•	Ability to work independently and follow instructions
•	Friendly and reliable
