HAPPY SENIORS MONTH – THE JOY PROJECT - This project is designed to spotlight seniors on how they stay upbeat and joyful and how everyone can lead happier lives. The DiversityCanada Foundation interviewed several experts from around the world on the topics of Joy and Resilience, and interviewed several Elliot Lake and Blind River seniors on how they stay happy and resilient. These interviews are put together in a full-length documentary. This documentary will be screened at the library June 20th @ 1pm.

TECH SOCIAL – Partnering with the Blind River Learning Centre, we are offering another Tech Social on April 4, 2024 from 1-3 pm! Call today to register if you need help with any tech item; may it be your cell phone, laptop or tablet they will help you learn how to use it!

DIAMOND DOT BOOKMARK WORKSHOP- Saturday March 2nd at 10:00 am. $7 per bookmark. All supplies included. Take home kits will be March 7 to 14. Call for more information. Pre-register by Wednesday, February 21st.

PUZZLE SWAP – Do you love to do jigsaw puzzles? Tired of doing the same puzzle over and over? Come to the library and swap your puzzle for a new one! Located near the front door.

LEGO WALL -Come and play on our Lego Wall, located by the graphic novels. What can you build?

CRAFT AND CHAT – Would you like to learn a new craft? Come and join us every Wednesday at 1:00 pm in our lounge area by the fireplace. All crafters welcome!

CRICUT CLUB  - Are you interested in learning how to use your Cricut or Design Space? Please let us know with enough interest. Any level welcomed.

BOOK DISPLAYS – “Red” any good books lately? Check out our “RED” books on display. Or have you read our current popular mystery author, Lisa Regan (Josie Quinn series)? We also have a display of BookTok books. Something for everyone! If we don’t have it, we can order it in to our library for you through Interlibrary loan.

READING CHALLENGE – We have a yearlong reading challenge starting. Come in and pick up your page today.

IT’S 2024!!!      Happy New Year to all!

TECH SOCIAL – January 25th from 1-3 pm. Call to register 705-356-7616. Did you get a new device for Christmas? Want us to help you learn how to use it? Or maybe you are frustrated with your Libby app? Come join us and we can help you learn to use your devices. Registration preferred but drop ins welcome! Thank you to the Blind River Learning Centre for your partnership.

MITTEN TREE – It was a HUGE success!! THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO DONATED!
We donated to Allstar Children Services BR daycares, ADSAB, Algoma Health, Golden Birches and the Women’s Shelter. We have also kept a few at the Library for anyone who may need items.

2024 DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS are always welcome! Volunteer packages are available at the front desk. Tax receipts available for donations over $20.

VALENTINE’S FOR VETS- Come & make a Valentine for a Veteran! Classes welcome!
Supplies provided. Drop off all valentines at the library by January 26th. We will mail out all of the Valentines to Veterans for February 14th!

SNOW KING IS BACK! -Come and find our Snow King EVERY day! He moves around the library daily. If you can find him your name is entered into a draw! Good luck to all!

BLIND RIVER TIM HORTONS AND THE LIBRARY FUNDRAISER – 
THANK YOU to everyone who bought cookies! Thank you to the Library Board and staff for helping. We raised $3010.50 for the library!

ORNAMENT WORKSHOP- Saturday December 9th at 10:30 am. $5 per ornament. Call for more information. Pre-register by Friday December 8 at noon.
