Author Meet and Greet with John Degen. June 13 @ 2:30 pm at the Library. John Degen is a poet and novelist with three published books. His essays and opinions have been published widely throughout Canada. Degen has
worked on behalf of other authors for the past thirty
years. He is Chief Executive Officer of The Writers’
Union of Canada (TWUC). He lives and works, happily, in Thessalon, Ontario, with occasional
 reluctant visits to Toronto and Ottawa. New book Release: Seldom Seen Road is conceived as the first in a series of murder mysteries set in and around the fictional Northern Ontario town of Burnt River. featuring the detective trio of Mark, Stephanie, and Jeremy Roth.

You can now borrow a Day-time Use Vehicle Permit to Ontario parks from your library.  The passes will provide day time use for one vehicle and its occupants, allowing access to over 100 provincial parks (does not include overnight). This program is part of the Healthy Parks Healthy People initiative. For the Parks listed below, library patrons who have borrowed a  Day-time Use Vehicle Permit are strongly recommended to obtain an Advance Daily Vehicle Permit from the park to ensure entry on planned visit day. Obtaining an Advance Daily Vehicle Permit for the listed parks will allow people to plan ahead, which means more time on the beach or trails and less time in long lines, and guarantee they have a parking spot upon arrival.    Advance Daily Vehicle Permits  are available at the following parks:          Algonquin, Arrowhead, Batchawana Bay, Craigleith, Darlington, Forks of the Credit*, Kakabeka Falls*, Kettle Lakes, Lake Superior, Long Point, Mono Cliffs*, North Beach, Pinery, Presqu’ile, Sandbanks Sibbald Point, and Turkey Point, Bass Lake, Blue Lake, Bonnechere, Driftwood, Kap-Kig-Iwan, Mara, McRae Point, Pancake Bay, Point Farms, Rainbow Falls, Rushing River*, Samuel de Camplain, Selkirk, Six Mile Lake, Voyageur, Windy Lake. In Memory
BRPL’s memorial  program is a great way to pay last respects to a loved one.
You simply request items to be added to the Library in memory of the person.
